Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on a private server operated by the controller. When you visit this site, the web server temporarily processes technical access data (such as your IP address, the requested page, date and time, browser type) in server log files. This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted automatically after a short retention period.

Web analytics (Matomo)

This website uses Matomo, an open-source web analytics platform. Matomo is self-hosted on the controller’s own server (stats.koester24.de) — no analytics data is ever transmitted to third parties.

Without your consent, Matomo runs in cookie-free mode: no cookies are set and no cross-visit profile is created. Only anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, referrer, browser type, approximate location based on a shortened IP address) are collected. Your IP address is anonymized before storage by masking the last two octets. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you accept cookies via the cookie banner, Matomo additionally sets first-party cookies (_pk_*) that allow it to recognize returning visitors. The legal basis for this is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Analytics data is stored exclusively on the controller’s server and is not shared with anyone.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77). To exercise your rights, contact the controller using the e-mail address above.
